  1. For years, I thought that I was immune to what onions do to a person when they chop them. I could happily chop onions for hours without a single tear or sniffle and was quickly designated the onion chopper extraordinaire in my home. Until one day, when I was no longer immune. The stinging, the tears! I was a mess, even more so because I had been so damn smug for so long.  The difference? I had never worn glasses before while chopping onions, always contact lenses.
